Eco-Solvent Printer

Océ expanded its family of printers with the addition of the CS9160 eco-solvent printer for indoor and outdoor graphics. The 64-in.-wide (1626-mm) printer features print speeds of up to 197 sq ft/hr (18.3 sq m/hr) at 720 dpi and expanded ink capacity with the ability to use 440-ml cartridges. The CS9160 is designed for shops entering the digital printing market and can print on coated and uncoated media for indoor and short- to mid-term outdoor graphics (up to three years without lamination). The CS9160 is equipped with VariaDot imaging technology, which produces dots with variable drop sizes in order to improve details, smooth gradients, and sharpen images. The WAVE Stitching function allows the CS9160 to print in waves instead of straight bands, reportedly resulting in high print quality, improved productivity, and increased media versatility. WAVE Stitching is available in all print modes. An optional infrared dryer is available, as is ONYX Workflow software. Océ North America, 5450 N.
