Electronics For Imaging (Nasdaq:EFII) today announced that when EFI™ Armor UVF, a non-yellowing, clear roll coat formula, is applied to Avery Dennison MPI 2600 Series textured wall films, the films have a durability of up to five years. Digitally printed Avery Dennison wall films protected with the EFI Armor UVF clear coat will be on display at the SGIA Expo in EFI’s Booth #1515.

“When the EFI Armor clear coat is applied to the MPI 2600 Series, it provides a protective layer to safeguard printed graphics from any indoor elements, including scratching, weathering and chemicals,” said Stephen Emery, vice president of Ink and New Business Development at EFI. “Customers can see and interact with the pairing first hand at our booth at the 2016 SGIA Expo.”

EFI Armor is a UV-curable liquid that can be applied to the films either by roller or waterfall. In addition to its highly protective qualities, the EFI Armor UVF clear coat extends durability for up to three years longer than without the protective layer. This brings the total durability of the Avery Dennison MPI 2600 Wall Films up to five years for indoor applications.

“EFI clear coat extends the durability of wall graphics created with the Avery Dennison MPI 2600 series and adds the protection needed in order for them to be cleaned,” said Jeff Losch, North America marketing director at Avery Dennison Graphics Solutions. “We constantly strive to give our customers the best product possible, and for our MPI 2600 Series, that means using EFI’s Armor clear coat.”

The chemical resistance of the EFI Armor UVF clear coat enables textured wall graphics to be cleaned on contact by everyday cleaning supplies, allowing for de-germing of the films used in public spaces, such as hotel lobbies or hospital waiting rooms.

The Avery Dennison film overlaminates are not designed to be used with the textured films, so EFI Armor UVF clear coat formula offers an ideal alternative.
