EFI recently announced the opening of its inkjet research and development design center in Hod-Hasharon, Israel. The new facility, along with others, is being established to augment EFI’s inkjet quality assurance and research demands.  EFI says it chose the Israeli site to take full advantage of the high-quality talent concentrated within the local population.

“Our new location provides us with an excellent professional, easily accessible research and development environment to better meet the diverse needs of our global customer base,” says EFI CEO Guy Gecht. “We are focused on delivering a consistent flow of inkjet product innovations for the superwide, label, packaging, and industrial print markets.”

Eli Shalev will serve as general manager for the new facility. Shalev formerly served as the general manager of Scitex product divisions, as well as vice president of research and development and COO for Nur Macroprinters. EFI is located at 303 Velocity Way, Foster City, CA 94404, 650-357-3500, 800-568-1917, fax: 650-357-3231, Web: www.efi.com.
