Epson’s New SureColor F7170 Dye-Sub Printer

Epson (www.epson.com) has expanded its SureColor F-series line of wide-format dye-sublimation printers with the F7170 for roll-to-roll fabric printing and soft signage applications.

Epson (www.epson.com) has expanded its SureColor F-series line of wide-format dye-sublimation printers with the F7170 for roll-to-roll fabric printing and soft signage applications.

The 64-in. CMYK printer uses Epson’s UltraChrome DS inks, designed to produce a wide color gamut with rich colors, intense blacks, sharp contours, and smooth gradations. The F7170 features a new take-up reel and winding system accurate to 0.19 in. and a platen engineered for transfer-paper printing with a post-print heater for optimal drying times. Other enhancements include a high-capacity 1.5-l ink system with refillable bags to allow for continuous printing through a full roll of media without the need to stop for cleaning cycles.

The printer is compatible with Epson’s line of dye-sublimation transfer papers, including the new DS Transfer Production paper for high-volume customers, as well as DS Transfer Adhesive Textile (for high-end cut-and-sew fabric and apparel production) and DS Transfer Multipurpose (for transfer applications that use either soft or rigid surfaces). It includes Wasatch SoftRIP TX, designed specifically for textile printing.
