FESPA Presents Results of Wide-Format Digital Printing Survey

FESPA has published the results of its pan-European Wide Survey, a study of the wide-format digital printing market conducted in conjunction with US-based InfoTrends. The report is based on responses from 400 participants from 66 countries and was designed to determine the current state and future outlook of the wide-format graphics market in Europe.

The Web-based survey focused on measuring the penetration of digital printing technology into screen-printing market segments, identifying leading technologies in these markets, providing information on equipment purchasing plans and print volumes, and more. Among other findings, the study reveals that digital makes up €13.17 billion (~$20.1 billion) of the total European graphics-printing market value of €25.6 billion (~$39.2 billion), digital printing is expected to grow 7.5% annually, less than half of respondents use wide-format digital printing equipment, and 57% of survey participants plan on adding digital technology.

“As an association, it’s vital for us to have our own, robust data to better understand the digital marketplace and in turn the concerns and motivations of the FESPA community,” says Marcus Timson, corporate communications director of FESPA. “FESPA’s aim is to support members and the wider global imaging community and provide them with access to high quality information. The Wide Survey research will help us devise and deliver educational and knowledge-sharing initiatives that are genuinely beneficial to today’s printers and help enable them to plan successful business strategies for the future.”

The survey report is available to members of FESPA’s national associations at no charge. Non-members may purchase the study for €1500 (~$2295).
