The event will kick off on Tuesday the 29th with a tour of the roll-to-roll manufacturing facility at the Center for Advanced Microelectronics Manufacturing – the nation’s first prototype research and development facility in large area flexible electronics, according to a release.

The Center is part of BU’s New York State Center of Excellence in Small Scale Systems Integration and Packaging.
Workshop programming, geared toward product designers and manufacturers, electronics integrators, sensor component suppliers, conductive materials companies, and more, will begin on Wednesday the 30th. The focus will be on both technologies and business strategies for military and commercial applications of novel and innovative power sources across a range of sizes and functions. A special emphasis will be devoted to sensory applications; as the workshop’s website indicates, “Products that sip power for long-term monitoring of both structures and humans are in high demand.”
