Future Print to Debut at GRAPH EXPO 2008

RFID and printed electronics will get top billing in a new forum called Future Print at GRAPH EXPO 2008, set to take place in Chicago’s McCormick Place South Hall, October 26-29, 2008.

RFID tags help manufacturers track and trace goods in the distribution channel, from the moment pallets leave their loading docks all the way to their final destination. Along the way, an RFID system can pinpoint product location and monitor environmental conditions reducing spoilage of perishable such as food and pharmaceuticals. At the item level, tags facilitate upstream inventory management and reduce shrinkage. They also reduce bottlenecks at toll booths, let you touch and pay at the gas pump or on public transit, and, when used on I.D. badges, manage personnel access to secure facilities.

The field of printed electronics is quickly catching up to RFID, and the promise it offers is unimaginable. The market for printed and thin-film electronics is projected to grow to $5.06 billion by 2011 and then to $48.18 billion by 2017! Just imagine every cell phone, every MP3 and video player, every monitor and wide-screen TV with back screens printed on thin film. Then throw in printed batteries and printed photovoltaics for solar charging.

Future Print will occupy booth 4087 at GRAPH EXPO and will offer live demonstrations, free training programs, short educational presentations, face-to-face opportunities to meet and talk with the experts, and prizes. You'll be able to register to win one of more than 1000 prizes, including the grand prize of a Nintendo Wii Friends Bundle!
