Stahls’ Hotronix Hover Press is a heat press designed specifically for the curing of inkjet ink on shirts. It features dual settings that include digital time, pressure, and temperature and allow users to set the press for two functions: hovering or pressure. One technique for curing inkjet-printed shirts is to press a shirt in two steps. The first step involves setting the press in an off-contact position or hovering above the shirt for approximately 45 sec. This process flash dries the ink. On the second step, users set the press to be used on contact in the conventional manner. This step fully cures and sets the ink. The press automatically pops up once the press cycle has ended. The Hover Press can be set in three combinations, including hover and pressure, hover on the first and second settings, or pressure on both settings. Different settings may be required for light and dark shirts and heavy and light fabrics. The press features a Teflon-coated platen.
