The screen-printing industry recently was saddened by the loss of John Bodis, former owner of Creative Screen Print, northern Ohio, and an industry consultant. Mr. Bodis passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2007.

Bodis was born in Akron, a son of John G. and Charlotte Bodis, graduated with honors from Kenmore High School, and attended the University of Akron. Reynold Bookman, president of Forest Corp., Twinsburg, OH, hired Bodis 25 years ago to serve as print-production manager for his company. Bodis worked for Forest Corp. for several years, then left to open his own business, Creative Screen Print. Bodis returned to Forest Corp. years later to serve as a consultant on a variety of projects, including the Web-based, print-on-demand program called PinPoint (www.pinpointpop.com).

“John was brought up from a young age in the screen-printing business, and was extremely knowledgeable about screen-printing technology,” Bookman says. “He was very well known in the industry, and a dynamic, forceful personality who truly, deeply believed in everything he said.”
Bodis is survived by daughter Tiffany Bodis of Charleston, SC; brother Frank Bodis of Akron, OH; sister Eva (Joseph) Varga of Canton, OH; nephew Curtis; and numerous friends. Donations may be made to the Interval Brotherhood Home (www.ibh.org) or donor’s favorite charity.
