Inkjet-Based Proofing System

EFI, Inc. and Seiko Epson Corp. have developed an inkjet-based proofing solution that uses the new Epson Stylus Pro 4880 (17 in., 432 mm), 7880 (24 in., 610 mm), and 11880 (64 in., 1626 mm) printers and the new version of EFI Colorproof XF software. The printers use Epson’s newly designed UltraChrome K3 ink with Vivid Magenta technology, which is a proprietary formulation of magenta pigments engineered for extreme blues and purples. EFI Colorproof XF features multi-format support for PostScript, PDF, JPEG, TIFF, PSD, and more, and it manages color based on ICC profiles. Colorproof XF supports JDF data exchange and supports the use of Macintosh workstations with Windows-based servers.
