The International Sign Association (ISA) has partnered with the British Sign and Graphics Association (BSGA) to launch ISA-UK. The venture “will allow ISA and BSGA to work together on issues common across the sign, graphics, and visual communications industry, including codes and regulations, research, workforce education, and events,” according to a release.
ISA-UK aims to maximize the value proposition for members of both associations by focusing on education and research in the global sign community. ISA will also support BSGA’s yearly British Sign Awards in November. “The business world is no longer contained by borders and this partnership offers tremendous opportunities for the growth of our industry,” says Lori Anderson, ISA president and CEO, in a release.
Additionally, ISA has released the “2018 Pulse of the Industry Report,” which offers insights based on survey responses from hundreds of sign, graphics, and visual communications companies. The report indicates that the industry is most challenged by three issues: finding and training workers, sign codes and regulations, and competition for contracts.
Of those surveyed, 55 percent say their companies will grow by 10 percent or more in 2018, which is on par with 2017. Sixty-seven percent say they will likely invest in new equipment in the coming year.
Compared with 77 percent last year, 71 percent of respondents this year plan to hire new employees. For more information, visit signs.org/pulse.
