ONYX Graphics recently released PrepEdge Pro software, a job-preparation tool designed specifically for large-format workflows. PrepEdge Pro software is designed to reduce job-preparation time and media waste and increase throughput and productivity for large-format digital imaging in the prepress stage of the printing workflow. Onyx says the software includes all production tools and a PDF editor, cuts prep time by up to 75%, works with all RIP software for large-format printing, and is the only job-preparation tool that runs on Macintosh and Windows platforms. PrepEdge Pro offers one-click grommet placement; size, crop and positioning tools; bleed and fold tools; tiling and template tools; contour cut-path generation; and a raster-image to vector tool. It also gives users the ability to view on-screen proofs and fix file anomalies. The software’s built-in color-correction and management tools include controls to correct hue, saturation, brightness, contrast, and color balance. It includes a spot-color-matching function with the ability to create and save spot-color libraries in addition to the on-board Pantone, RAL, HKS, and more. Onyx Graphics, 6915 S.
