Laser Marking System

Universal Laser Systems upgraded its XL Series of CO2 laser systems with a new laser platform that can be configured to provide 400 watts of air-cooled power. The laser uses direct air cooling, eliminating the need for chillers. The company says its XL Series of laser systems features oversized processing fields, easy integration, and advanced, stand-alone job-management capabilities. Other features include automatic detection of installed options, an advanced beam indicator that identifies the point of laser impact on a material’s surface, and patented High Power Density Focusing Optics, a lens option designed to reduce the focused spot size. Users can store and run thousands of jobs on the XL’s 40-GB hard drive without connection to a host PC. Users also can change, store, or restore job parameters on the fly, as well as preview job files on the system’s color LCD screen. Universal Laser Systems, Inc., 16008 N. 81st St., Scottsdale, AZ 85260, 480-483-1214, 800-859-7033, fax: 480-483-5620, Web: www.ulsinc.com.
