Martine Padilla Named Executive Director of Sustainable Green Printing Partnership

Martine Padilla has been named the new executive director of the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP), the non-profit organization that certifies printing facilities’ sustainability best practices.

Martine Padilla has been named the new executive director of the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP), the non-profit organization that certifies printing facilities’ sustainability best practices.

Padilla’s background includes 30 years of print sales and operations, including agency and corporate purchasing of printed materials. Most recently, Padilla served as president of print-procurement consultancy Sophizio, a business unit of Callahan Creek. She also has held the title of print director with Callahan Creek, and served as Toyota’s authorized print director. Throughout her career, Padilla has worked with various notable clientele including Wal-Mart, Colgate, Russell Stover Candies, Avery Dennison, Payless ShoeSource, The Upper Deck Company, Konami, Topps, and The Walt Disney Company.

“I look forward to expanding the SGP community,” says Padilla. “I am aggressively seeking new SGP partnerships with printers and patrons, but also with elite corporate print buyers and NGO leaders. Being a print buyer myself, I know SGP printers can help print buyers who are being challenged to bring more sustainable print solutions to their organization toward achieving CSR and specific sustainability goals.

“Ensuring that we are addressing all of our sustainability challenges with a holistic approach, we are seeking alliances with NGOs who are interested in sharing their global insights and influence within our community. Printers, suppliers, print buyers, and NGO leaders who are interested in engaging in forward-thinking sustainability conversations should contact me directly,” she says.

In mid-2013, Padilla contributed to The Big Picture’s special report, “Establishing a Green Identity,” and provided five critical steps a print shop can take toward garnering sustainability-driven partnership with its clients.
