MGE, Xerox, XMPie Team Up at Graph Expo

Mikkelsen Graphic Engineering (MGE), an EskoArtwork Co., reports that Graph Expo was a milestone. It was there that, in cooperation with Xerox and XMPie at the Xerox booth, a demonstration was given of a technology that combines customized text coupled with customized contour cutting of personalized graphics (postcards) with products that will be available to the printing industry to purchase and use.

XMPie developed uDirect and PersonalEffect to handle the text and picture  requirements. Pictures and personalized print information, including name and message were sent to the Xerox DocuColor 265 printer with EFI Fiery RIP, and individual greeting cards were printed in quantities defined by the customer. The prints, complete with bar-coded job information, were then contour cut on the MGE/i-cut Kongsberg iXE-10 digital cutting system. The system performed custom digital diecutting, card-outline cutting, and creasing. When finished, the cut and folded pop-up greeting cards were picked up by the attendees.
