Miller Imprints Closing After 40 Years in Business

Miller Imprints is closing up shop after a 40-year run in business.

The owners of the Newport, Kentucky-based screen printer recently sold their property for $325,000 to Harris Media, a local broadcasting and media production company, Link nky reports.

Jack Miller, co-owner of the eponymously named shop, said he decided to close his business for several reasons. Saturation in the local screen printing market was among them.

“When we first started out, we were pretty much one of the only ones that did everything – we did screen printing, embroidery, and promotional products,” Miller told the outlet. “That market is fair game for everybody now.”

The lack of a successor, as well as his own personal wish to retire, were other factors contributing to Miller’s decision. “We really didn’t have any family members to carry on the work,” he said. “The work is also really demanding.”

Miller Imprints was founded in 1983 by Bob and Jack Miller. They moved to their current location in Newport three years later, where they’ve been ever since.
