The Organic and Printed Electronics Association (OE-A) has released its semi-annual OE-A Business Climate Survey, in which OE-A members ranging from material suppliers to end users provide qualitative data on the state of the industry. The report’s findings show that more than 80 percent of survey participants expect industry growth in the coming year.

Key survey takeaways include:
• The projected industry sales revenue increase for 2017 is 13 percent, which is 5 points higher than expected based on results from the previous survey earlier in the year.
• Respondents expect to see a continuation of the positive trend in 2018, with companies predicting revenue growth of 16 percent along the entire value chain.
• Survey respondents see the most growth in the consumer electronics, medical and pharmaceutical, automotive, lighting, energy, and packaging sectors. “We especially see a growing interest in the industry sectors [of] mobility and automotive, as well as medical and pharmaceutical,” says Dr. Klaus Hecker, OE-A managing director, in a release.
• Survey participants plan to invest in expanding production, R&D capacity, and employee numbers in the coming year.
