OHIO UNIVERSITY AND B Corp, Sudara, joined forces to give back to two missions and offer students real-world design experience, recognition, and pay.
The Sudara Tee Design Challenge was introduced during Ohio University’s Women Entrepreneurship Week.
Students were invited to submit their own designs for consideration in Sudara’s new line of statement T-shirts. The challenge furthered Sudara’s mission to provide employment opportunities for Indian women at high risk of human trafficking through sustainable, dignified jobs to produce ethically made pajamas and loungewear. The challenge also supported local domestic violence agency, My Sister’s Place, donating 15 percent of T-shirt sales revenue to their cause. Flash Ink (flashink.com/screen-printing) in Bend, Oregon, printed the shirts on a six-color Workhorse Sabre automatic press. Winning designs can be purchased at sudara.org.
