Onyx Graphics Reveals Updated Software

Onyx 18 has enhanced color features.

Onyx Graphics has released its updated Onyx 18 wide-format software. The software includes new color technologies for color accuracy, consistency, and conformance to standards including G7 and Fogra; it is also compatible with the iccMax wide-format standard. Onyx 18 includes Adobe PDF Print Engine (APPE 4.8) for increased consistency and reliability across proofing cycles plus spot color handling with up to 127 channels, the company reports.

Other features include Onyx Color, with enhanced black ink combinations; ColorCheck for color accuracy and process control; PosterColor 2.0 for added saturation of solid colors; AccuBoost for accurate ICC profiles; and Onyx Thrive with Step-and-Repeat functionality, which enables users to create patterns with all image types for print applications including print-and-cut workflows and textiles.
