RIP and Profile-Generation Software

Mimaki’s new Raster Link Pro II is an ICC-compliant RIP in which Mimaki Profile Master software, also new, makes custom profiles to support special input, color-matching, and output needs. Raster Link Pro II uses core Wasatch technology and can drive up to four printers via IEEE 1394 (FireWire) connections and manage queues from the same RIP. It’ll eventually support the entire Mimaki printer line and is currently compatible with JV3, JV4, and 22 series printers. Raster Link Pro II features a pick-up color feature, which is a way to scan a color swatch and either match it or provide a replacement in the image. Mimaki Profile Master uses Monotype color-management technology and offers a pushbutton interface and profile-preparation wizard for creating custom profiles. Mimaki will offer both products bundled with printers and as standalone applications. Mimaki USA, 140 Satellite Blvd. NE, Ste. B2, Suwanee, GA 30024, 888-530-3988, Web: www.mimakiusa.com.
