Roland Adds 30-Inch UV Benchtop Printer

Roland has introduced the VersaUV LEF-300 benchtop UV-LED flatbed printer, the largest model to date in the series. The LEF-300 prints on a variety of substrates – including PET, ABS, polycarbonate, TPU, leather, smartphone cases, and promotional items – up to 30 in. wide and 3.94 in. thick. The benchtop printer leverages four printheads and two UV-LED lamps for bidirectional printing reportedly 60% faster than the LEF-20.

The benchtop printer leverages four printheads and two UV-LED lamps for bidirectional printing reportedly 60% faster than the LEF-20. The number of white and clear ink nozzles have also been doubled for increased speed, density, and opacity, as well as multilayer printing for 3D textures. Features also include a draft print mode for prototyping, a built-in vacuum table for thin and soft materials, and a BOFA air filtration system.

The printer uses the company’s new EUV4 inks, in CMYK + white + clear, designed to reduce odor and shrinking of thin film materials. Available in 500-mL cartridges for all colors except white.

The LEF-300 comes with the company’s VersaWorks Dual RIP software with PostScript and PDF support. The platform also offers features for offset, positioning, rotation, registration of ink layers, and automatic creation of white and clear ink effects.
