Mike Ruff, chief technology officer of Nazdar Consulting Services, Shawnee, KS, was presented the Swormstedt Award by the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association’s Academy of Screen Printing Technology (ASPT) for his article, “Accumulative Density: A Powerful Color-Control Tool,” which appeard in the April 2008 edition of Screen Printing magazine. The award is given to authors who present an article or technical paper that encourages advancements in the screen-printing industry.

This year marks Ruff’s second in a row for receiving the Swormstedt Award, which considers articles published between Aug 1 and July 31. Last year’s win was for an article of Ruff’s that was published in the fourth-quarter 2006 edition of the SGIA Journal, entitled, “Hybrid Curves.”
