Need to swiftly separate your designs for screen printing? Printa says its new Printa Seps software can do just that in about a minute for six-channel separations and with a 95% accuracy rate. Printa Seps is a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop 7.0. It’s designed to import artwork and prepare separations for output at the click of a button and without any working knowledge of Photoshop. Printa Seps is calibrated for QCM inks, but users can set it to work with other brands of ink. The software also features Work Flow Output, a tool that allows users to place a thumbnail rendition of the design in the position where it’ll be printed on the garment. Printa Seps also handles duotones and one-color separations for a black-and-white effect. It allows users to feather a design’s edges, and its built-in halftones allow for printing without a RIP. Printed films contain registration marks. Printa Systems, Inc., 127 10th St. S., Kirkland, WA 98033, 800-601-6240, fax: 425-828-8956, Web: www.printa.com.
