The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA), Fairfax, VA, announced the opening of the SGIA Digital Imaging Lab, a facility designed to provide graphic-imaging professionals tools for maximizing their digital-imaging equipment. SGIA says the lab is equipped with software and printing tools donated by GretagMacbeth, Kodak Graphic Communications Group, Matan, Mimaki, and US Screen Print & Inkjet Technology.

“We’re always expanding the SGIA Information Network,” says SGIA president and CEO Michael Robertson. “Whether you’re into graphics or garments, the SGIA Digital Imaging Lab was built to help you find new and better ways to maximize digital-imaging technology in your operation.”

The lab will be home to hands-on imaging workshops, beginning with “Color Management for Specialty Printing,” scheduled for May 3-5. A second session called “Intro to Digital” will meet Jun 29-30 and will cover the latest technologies and techniques used in digital printing and imaging. For more information, contact SGIA, 10015 Main St., Fairfax, VA 22031-3489, 703-385-1335, fax: 703-273-0456, e-mail: sgia@sgia.org, Web: www.sgia.org.
