iTi, Xaar, and Cima NanoTech partnered for a turnkey solution for silver-nanoparticle deposition. The inkjet system can be used to develop new production processes for flat-panel displays, RFID tags, PCBs, fuel cells, and electronic components. The solution includes Xaar’s OmniDot piezoelectric inkjet technology with iTi’s XY Materials Deposition System—a fabrication tool for digitally printed electronics—and Cima NanoTech’s proprietary nanomaterial-ink technologies. The deposition system supports up to four of Xaar’s OmniDot 380/40 printheads and uses a dedicated inkjet drive engine called the Delta XO/760. The engine includes the drive electronics, ink-supply system, and user interface. The printheads reportedly deliver 40-pl drops at up to 8kHz. The printheads are equipped with an alloy cover and nozzle guard for durability in demanding production environments. Xaar says its printheads are optimized to jet Cima NanoTech’s IJ-1000 conductive silver ink, which is designed for piezoelectric printheads. IJ-1000 ink can be adhered to various substrates, including glass, polyimide, and PET film. iTi, 8401 Baseline Rd., Boulder, CO 80303, 303-443-1036, fax: 303-443-6191, e-mail: info@imagingtechnology-corp.com., Web: www.imagingtechnology-corp.com.
