Clean Color and Full Gamut Technology are among the features EFI includes in version 3.1 of its Fiery XF RIP. Clean Color is designed to produce vivid, saturated color with pleasant modulation and precise colors in skin tones, grays, and spot colors. Users can run it automatically or in custom mode—or switch it off completely. Full Gamut Technology is part of Fiery XF’s color-management toolset. It’s designed to exploit the maximum color gamut of the operator’s printing equipment, as EFI puts it, by perfectly reproducing primary colors and not profile-limiting color rendering. Version 3.1 also includes Font Checker to detect missing fonts, Monitor Profile Selection to turn workstations with calibrated and profiled monitors into soft-proofing devices, Pre-Defined Workflows to simplify setup, and Advanced Back-Up and Restore to save reference, monitor profiles, and server configuration. Version 3.1 of EFI’s Fiery XF RIP supports the full line of VUTEk wide-format solvent and UV inkjet printers. EFI, 303 Velocity Way, Foster City, CA 94404, 650-357-3500, fax: 650-357-3907.
