Specialty Polyester Film

MacDermid Autotype expanded its product line with a polyester film designed to keep fitness- equipment control panels clean and free from bacteria, mold, and other contaminants. Autotex AM is a hard-coated, polyester-based film featuring a textured surface that Macdermid says is resistant to scratches, chemicals, and aggressive cleaning agents. Autotex AM can be applied to curved surfaces and embossed. The film incorporates Microban antimicrobial product protection designed to inhibit the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew that causes stains, odors, and product degradation. The Microban technology is incorporated into Autotex AM’s hard coat during the manufacturing process, ensuring even distribution of the antimicrobial agent throughout the film’s surface. The second surface is coated with an ink-receptive primer that reportedly offers excellent adhesion to solvent-based graphic screen-printing inks.
