Spectra, Lebanon, NH, has certified new ink formulations from Inkware, a division of EFI; Sericol, a division of Fujifilm; and SunJet, a division of Sun Chemical. The newly certified inks range from solvent-based to UV-curable chemistries and are designed for use in display graphics, packaging, and other high-speed digital-printing applications that require a broad color pallet, good adhesion, and efficient ink-drying and curing properties.

The formulations are tested with specific printhead configurations under Spectra’s Ink Certification Program. Spectra says the inks are tested internally and in the field to ensure optimal printing performance and maximum printhead life. Certified inks meet a comprehensive suite of test requirements defined by Spectra. Requirements include material-set compatibility and sustainability testing to assure that inks do not damage printheads and perform well when used and maintained in the prescribed manner.

Some of the inks include Uvijet Versa from Fujifilm Sericol, UFE and UDG UV-curing inks from SunJet, and UVV varnish and URW white from SunJet. Spectra is located at 109 Etna Rd., Lebanon, NH 03766, 603-443-5300, fax: 603-448-9870, e-mail: info@spectra-inc.com, Web: www.spectra-inc.com.
