MacDermid Autotype’s Autoflex EB film has been awarded UL (Underwriters Laboratories) recognition in the US. The recognition applies to both the gloss and antiglare finish versions of the film.

Autoflex EB has been recognized to UL 746A Testing for Electrical Properties standard and gained the UL94 HB flammability rating. This recognition will enable users of Autoflex EB to gain UL Certification for their product or device with a reduced test program and enhances the opportunity for the product to be used in applications where additional flammability constraints are required, the company reports.

“The UL is changing its position to ensure that more individual product components are recognized as meeting safety standards,” says Neil Bolding, MacDermid Autotype’s marketing quality and technical manager. “This enables the customer to specify a recognized plastic such as Autoflex EB that maintains consistency of characteristics over a long lifespan, and offers the peace of mind that comes from using an approved material in their process.”
