UV Inkjet Printers

MacDermid ColorSpan says its new 5400uv series of wide-format UV inkjet printers combines the high quality of an aqueous thermal inkjet printer and the outdoor durability of a solvent printer with the media flexibility of a UV inkjet printer. The 54-in. (1372-mm) printers are equipped with piezo printheads and support imaging resolutions up to 1200 x 600 dpi. The six-color models offer apparent resolution up to 1800 dpi. The 5400uv uses SolaChrome UV-curable, pigmented inks available in CMYKLcLm. The inks offer outdoor durability from two to seven years, depending on the application. Print speeds range from 24-388 sq ft/hr (2.2-36 sq m/hr), depending on resolution and print mode. The 5400uv is compatible with a range of uncoated materials up to 1 in. (25.4 mm) thick and between 24-54 in. (610-1372 mm) wide, including roll-fed media such as banner vinyl, adhesive vinyl, canvas, paper, and backlit film, in addition to rigid substrates such as untreated Coroplast, Sintra, Gatorboard, and Fome-Cor. Other features include Advanced Automation Eye, AutoSet Calibration, AutoJet Calibration, AutoTune Scheduler, AutoEdge and Media Out Detection, Color Calibration, and Color Profiling.
