VMS Highlights Lean at Open House

Twinsburg, OH-based Visual Marking Systems (VMS), a provider of product markings for OEMs, corporate identification, transportation, and fleet graphics, recently held a customer-appreciation day that saw representatives from more than 40 companies visiting VMS’s facility. VMS took the opportunity to showcase its efforts in becoming a lean enterprise.

VMS gave customers insight about its day-to-day working, such as the lean approach to identifying and eliminating waste and implementing continuous improvement. The lean method guides the flow of products or services through the company in response to the pull of customer demand. Another highlight of the day was the Product Innovation Team, consisting of an estimator, a graphic designer, a customer-satisfaction representative, and a planner who streamlines the administrative process for all incoming new parts for VMS’s customers.

VMS also unveiled its new Innovation Center, which provides customers an environment in which they can brainstorm with VMS’s design staff about the concepts and design of their new parts. Finally, VMS gave attendees a look at its Digital Center, which houses the company’s digital imaging equipment. For more information, contact Visual Marking Systems, Inc., 2097 E.
