What’s New in Pad Printing?

My fascination with pad printing dates back to 1972. I was searching for some ink to use in a Tecalcos pad printer at the time, but no suppliers had heard of such an ink. So I ended up at my local hardware store and bought a half pint tin of black gloss paint. I poured some into the machine’s inkwell, pressed the “go” button, and it printed! The appreciation for the pad-printing process I developed then continues to this day.

I’ve since found pad printing to be a wonderful technique. It prints on uneven surfaces. Users can choose from a wide range of ink systems, substrates, and machines
