Wide-Format UV Inkjet Printer

MacDermid ColorSpan bills its new 9840UV as an industrial-grade flatbed UV inkjet printer designed to be a production sign system. It features Micro-Quad printhead technology (16 piezo heads configured in four interlacing rows per process color), uses SolaChrome UV pigmented inks (CMYK), and features MacDermid ColorSpan’s Advanced Automation Eye system for printer setup and head calibration. The printer supports imaging resolutions up to 600 dpi, print speeds up to 811 sq ft/hr (75 sq m/hr), and rigid media up to 98.4 in. wide x 80 in. long x 2.75 in. thick (2499 x 2032 x 70 mm). The 9840UV offers edge-to-edge printing in both width and length on rigid media. MacDermid says the printer’s vacuum belt media drive eases loading and enhances media-feeding accuracy. An optional second set of roller tables allows for use of rigid media up to 150 in. (3810 mm) long, and an optional supply and take-up system supports roll-fed media up to 98.4 in. wide on 2- or 3- in. (51- or 76-mm) cores.
