EFI VUTEk expanded its family of superwide format UV printers with the addition of the GS2000 and QS3220 printers. The GS2000 is a 2-m hybrid printer designed to produce photorealistic-quality graphics, and the QS3220 is a 3.2-m hybrid printer featuring High Definition Print (HDP) technology. The GS2000 is equipped with dual-resolution capability that enables true 600 dpi with 24-picoliter drops and true 1000 dpi with 12-picoliter drops, and can print in eight colors plus two channels for white. In Fast-5 mode, the device prints four-color plus white graphics at speeds up to 2000 sq ft/hr (186 sq m/hr). In eight-color plus white mode, print speeds are up to 1000 sq ft/hr (93 sq m/hr). The GS2000 prints on flexible and rigid substrates, and its hybrid belt design allows changeover from rigid to roll-to-roll substrates. The QS3220 also features HDP technology and prints images up to 3.2 m wide at 1080 dpi. EFI VUTEk says text is printed cleanly and crisply and that EFI’s Fiery XF RIP solution ensures consistent, accurate color and reliable output. The QS3220 can print at speeds up to 900 sq ft/hr (84 sq m/hr) in six-color-plus-white mode. The printer uses QS Series 2 UV inks.
