Belt Cleaner for Cutting/Routing System

Mikkelsen Graphic Engineering and Esko now offer a belt cleaner as an optional accessory for the i-XL Series of large-format cutting and routing systems. “We have removed one more obstacle to the efficient use of our most versatile systems to ‘quick-change’ from flexible-material cutting to rigid-material routing and vice-versa, to meet the needs of the most demanding production schedule,” says Steen Mikkelsen, president of Mikkelsen Graphic Engineering. The device was developed jointly with Wandres GmbH’s US subsidiary, which specializes in design and production of microcleaning systems. The belt cleaner’s Sword Brush removes particles from even or vaulted surfaces. It’s integrated into the existing i-XL conveyor transport system under control of the i-cut software to allow cleaning to take place only while the belt is moving.
