EFI, Foster City, CA, a developer of digital imaging technologies recently completed a strategic investment in Jettable, a Netanya, Israel-based inkjet-technology company that specializes in digital printing onto ceramic substrates. Jettable’s product portfolio will join the groupings of EFI’s inkjet solutions, which includes VUTEk wide-format printers and Jetrion inkjet printers for labels and packaging, as well as EFI’s investments in Kornit digital textile printers and Raster Printers.

Jettable, which was founded in 2003, offers a line of ceramic inks and pigments. The inherent characteristics of ceramic composition inks, as EFI puts it, create the need for a specialized flatbed inkjet printer with color management tuned to the distinctive ceramic colors in order to generate the widest and most attractive color gamut. To that end, Jettable has designed a modified print engine that EFI reports is capable of high-quality printing onto numerous types of porous and non-porous ceramic surfaces.

“We are pleased that EFI has identified our breakthrough technology as a true asset to their best-in-class product offering. We are delighted to join forces with EFI, [and] our vision for industry-leading digital inkjet technologies can now fully be realized,” says Warren Green, director and founder of Jettable. More information about EFI and Jettable is available at www.efi.com and www.jettable.com.
