Films for Labeling Applications

FLEXcon developed its COMPUcal EXCEL films to fulfill labeling needs in a range of markets. The company says the films ensure label consistency and deliver a high-performance line of products optimized not only for the end-use application, but also for the printing and converting processes. Applications may include electronic part identification and tracking, warning/instruction labels on power and hand tools, healthcare diagnostics, emblem/decorative graphics on automotive exteriors, agency recognition, and compliance labels on appliances. COMPUcal EXCEL is UL-recognized, and FLEXcon says the films meet the demand for durability in harsh environments and adhere well to a variety of surfaces. The films feature a matte topcoat formulated to provide compatibility with wax, resin, and wax/resin thermal transfer, laser, impact, and electron beam technologies, as well as conventional UV screen, letterpress, and flexo ink systems. The films are available in 1-mil clear and 2-mil clear, white, and silver, in roll and sheet form. The roll-form films are backed with a 50-lb, bleached Kraft liner. The sheet-form films are backed with FLEXcon’s 91-lb layflat release liner. FLEXcon Co., Inc., 1 FLEXcon Industrial Park, Spencer, MA 01562, 508-885-8300, fax: 508-885-8301, Web: www.flexcon.com.
