Inkjet Head Array

FUJIFILM Dimatix launched a new, drop-on-demand inkjet head array that the company says delivers best-in-class jetting performance in a ready-to-integrate printhead assembly. The ScanPAQ 2.5 Head Array is the first array based on Q-Class Sapphire printheads and is designed to help OEM system builders develop what Fujifilm Dimatix describes as cutting-edge printing systems with exceptional image quality and high productivity for advanced display graphics and other applications and reduce time to market.

According to the company, the Q-Class Sapphire printheads feature low crosstalk, channel-to-channel uniformity, and advanced carbon-silicon hybrid construction, which allows the printheads to fire frequencies up to 50,000 cycles/sec, while supporting binary and grayscale VersaDrop operations. The printheads also can jet UV-curable, organic solvent, and aqueous ink formulations. The ScanPAQ 2.5 Head Array is equipped with a 2.55-in. (64.8-mm) swatch width and features four rack-mounted Q-Class Sapphire printheads. Each of the four printheads has 256 individually addressable channels arranged in a single row. The head array includes all interface electronics, ink reservoirs, heaters, sensors, and inlet filters for ink and air lines needed by systems developers and integrators to incorporate one or more head arrays into their product designs. The head array also uses VersaDrop jetting technology, which enables each of the 1024 nozzles in one printhead array to deliver a desired amount of fluid in each ink droplet, and allows users to configure one or more ScanPAQ 2.5 Head Arrays with flexible operating modes.
