Laser Cutting System

Universal Laser Systems expanded its Professional Laser Series (PLS) family of computer-controlled CO2 laser cutting, marking, and engraving systems with four new models. The PLS line, which replaces the company’s M, V, and X laser systems, features updates to the laser cartridge, platform chassis, system electronics, and software interface. The Laser Interface+ materials-based print driver offers users the choice between automatic or manual control over power, speed, and other system settings. Other features include built-in storage space, a new keypad/display interface, and bold graphics. Universal Laser Systems says many items on the laser systems are maintenance free, and serviceable items can be replaced easily and inexpensively by the user with simple hand tools. The systems are available with Universal’s optional HPDFO optics, which allow for direct marking onto uncoated metals such as steel, iron, chrome, and titanium without the need for metal marking compounds.
