Wasatch’s SoftRIP Version 6.4 RIP software includes a new feature for its SP Edition, enabling users to compute their own Wasatch Precision Rosette Screens. It also includes new screens specific to the flexo industry, a Press Curves function, output to TIFF files, and more. The custom rosettes feature enables modification of Wasatch’s halftoning methods for separations. With the ability to create their own Wasatch Precision Rosette screens, users now can select imaging resolutions and line counts to match their separation workflows. The Press Curves function allows users to linearize their presses and create two-stage calibrations that are common in prepress workflows and, with a single setting, produce separations for punching contrast or highlights on press. The calibration and linearization utility is compatible with commonly used densitometers. SoftRIP Version 6.4 also provides full compatibility with 64-bit versions of Windows XP and Vista.
