Ritrama Receives Award for Waste and Pollution Prevention

Ritrama, Minneapolis, MN, received the 2009 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Waste and Pollution Prevention. In 2003, Ritrama developed a partnership with the Southeast Como Improvement Association and signed a Good Neighbor Agreement to help improve the environment and prevent the release of VOCs into the air. Ritrama has installed thermal oxidizers and today has reportedly reduced emissions by 92% over the course of the project.

“These organizations have found innovative and resourceful ways to reduce waste and pollution, often increasing efficiency and lowering costs at the same time,” Governor Tim Pawlenty said at the awards ceremony.
