Roland DGA Corp., Irvine, CA and St. Paul, MN-based 3M Commercial Graphics have teamed up in a strategic alliance that the companies say will combine Roland’s experience in manufacturing printers and 3M’s media expertise to provide customers with what they describe as advanced printing solutions on a more timely basis. The agreement includes authorization for Roland to resell 3M inkjet media.

“Roland’s strong reputation for quality and innovation is a natural fit for 3M,” says Polly Foss, business manager, 3M Commercial Graphics. “We believe that this relationship holds strong benefits for the industry in terms of providing qualified materials into a growing installed base with improved cycle time and leveraging our mutual technology platforms to create additional value in the marketplace.”

“The relationship brings all the benefits of 3M’s patented film and adhesives technology with the precision and performance of Roland’s innovative inkjet and integrated print/cut technology,” notes Brain McLeod, vice president of marketing for Roland DGA Corp. “Roland and 3M customers can enjoy optimum levels of performance across an entire production cycle–from the printing and application processes to the quality and longevity of the final displayed graphic.”
