To celebrate Manufacturing Day, a nationwide event meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers, idX (idxcorporation.com) hosted 50 high school students at its Jeffersonville, Indiana, facility in early November. Students and teachers from South Central High School and New Washington High School joined idX managers and supervisors for tours of the shop and a deep dive into the production process, from concept to final installation. Finished displays were set up in a conference room, where General Manager Chad Wallen shared a presentation about idX and its capabilities, the work the company does on a daily basis, and how integral manufacturing is to the economy on all levels. IdX specializes in the design, manufacturing, and execution of retail environments (including printing), with over 20 facilities in North America and Asia.
“The students asked great questions,” said Wallen in a release. “They definitely kept us on our toes. Everyone here looks forward to hosting students for Manufacturing Day each year.”
