IPC – Association Connecting Electronics Industries has released its July update from its monthly American Printed Circuit Board Statistical Program. The study revealed that the book-to-bill ratio had increased to 1.09 – “a good indicator of sales growth in the second half of this year,” says Sharon Starr, director of market research. This was the 10th month in a row the study has found a positive (greater than 1) ratio.
While shipments and orders were down from the month of June, Starr indicated that these are typical seasonal patterns. The year-to-date shipment growth remained at -0.3, a consequence of negative growth rates from earlier in 2015; but the year-to-date order growth rate rose to 3.9 percent.
