The Rho 350R roll-to-roll UV inkjet printer is the latest from Durst. It’s 11.5 ft wide (3.5 m) and comes equipped with Durst Quadro Array print technology. Each array prints either 400 or 600 dpi and apply variable drop sizes between 40-55 picolitres, depending on the resolution setting. The printer is available with eight or 16 array assemblies. Rho 350R inks are formulated specifically for Durst equipment. Flexible Ink Set and Rigid Ink Set are formulated to be odorless, environmentally friendly, and offer high adhesion and flexibility. CMYK plus white ink and spot colors are managed by a quick-change system. The Rho 350R can print directly onto coated or uncoated roll media at speeds up tp 700 sq ft/hr (65 sq m/hr) on the 350R-8 model and 1292 sq ft/hr (120 sq m/hr) on the 350R-16 model. A True Touch on-screen user interface allows operators to manage image files and activate double-sided printing. A hot-folder system moves and tracks image files, and operators can RIP and print jobs simultaneously. Operators can load jobs into a print queue and sequence them for unattended operation. The Rho 350R features user-selected gloss or matte finishes, dual media-roll-loading positions, and a motorized roll-take-up unit.
