EFI combines its production- and workflow-management technologies with VUTEk’s digital printing systems in the new VUTEk QS3200. The printer can accommodate flexible and rigid media up to 126 in. (3.2 m) wide and up to 2 in. (51 mm) thick. Maximum print speed is 900 sq ft/hr (84 m/hr), and EFI says users can switch between rigid and flexible substrates in less than a minute. The QS3200 offers a 1080-dpi maximum imaging resolution, six-color printing and a channel for white ink, and EFI Fiery XF RIP. According to EFI, the QS3200 can print crisp, clear 4-pt text and deposit white ink as an overprint, underprint, spot, underspot, fill, and overspot. A feed-side control module allows operators to start printing from both sides of the unit, and VUTEk’s graphic user interface can be used to combine separate jobs into a single print run.
