R Tape’s VinylEFX films have a new look and are available in more sizes. Customers can buy the films in rolls widths of 30 or 48 in. (762 or 1219 mm) in the Decorative or Outdoor Durable lines and choose from new patterns, including smooth silver, smooth gold, brush silver, brush gold, carbon fibre silver, and carbon fibre black. The films are compatible with various screen-printing inks, thermal-transfer systems, and solvent and ecosolvent inkjet printers. VinylEFX films can be computer-cut, steel-rule diecut, thermal diecut, embossed, and domed. The Durable series features a 96-lb layflat, coated release liner with a solvent-based acrylic adhesive system. The Durable films offer up to five years of outdoor durability. The Decorative series features a permanent emulsion acrylic adhesive and a 78-lb release liner. A new, wide-weave Carbon Fibre pattern replaces an earlier version as the standard VinylEFX offering. The new pattern matches the 3K, 2 x 2 twill weave pattern of real carbon fiber, which is commonly used for making composite parts in the automotive, RV, and marine industries. The wider pattern reportedly is easier to see at a distance when the vinyl film is used for signage and large-format graphics. The Carbon Fibre Black pattern in the Durable series also uses an outdoor-durable carbon black pigment that is rated for two years of outdoor durability.
