Graphics Printing

Image Analyzer, the newest software from MacDermid Autotype, was developed to enable screen printers to improve the quality of screen-printed text and graphics. The software, which is free of charge, runs on any Windows-based PC, works in real time, and uses a standard USB-connected microscope to magnify and assess image and non-image areas of a screen-printed job. Users can analyze data in several ways, using a range of measuring modes based on standard geometric shapes and capture output for subsequent analysis or export to a spreadsheet. Users also can store results for quality-control documentation and calibrate with a special slide available from MacDermid Autotype. “Our goal is to eliminate the confusion and variables that are normally associated with printing, and to turn what has previously been something of a black art into a scientific, consistent, and repeatable process,” says Neil Bolding, MacDermid Autotype’s business-support manager.
