Oracal expanded its line of ORALITE films with the addition of Series 5400 economy-grade reflective film for short- to medium-term outdoor applications. The 4-mil film features a clear, permanent, solvent-based adhesive and an 84-lb PE-coated paper liner. Series 5400 is weather resistant and reportedly offers excellent corrosion- and solvent-resistance properties. Oracal says the film’s smooth, alkyd resin surface offers scratch resistance, impact strength, and compatibility with thermal-transfer printers. The film can be used for traffic-control, guidance, warning, and information signs, in addition to reflective lettering, numbers, and symbols that are not required to comply with national specifications for retroreflectivity. ORALITE Series 5400 is available in 30- and 150-ft (9.0- and 45.8-m) rolls with widths of 24, 48, 15 (punched), and 30 (punched) in.
