Digital Printing

Graphics screen printers who bring inkjet technology in house typically do so to take the pressure off of their screen presses. They use inkjets to print the short-run graphics, the one-offs, and product prototypes. Those who use color-measuring devices, such as densitometers and spectrophotometers are able to use inkjets and screen presses almost interchangeably, but accurate color matching is but one part of effectively using wide-format inkjets to complement screen printing. Even though profiling presses can ensure that color is produced predictably from print to print and from one output device to the other, some clients may insist that digitally imaged graphics also take on the appearance of those produced on screen presses.
